Brighton Samaritans call for help

Brighton Samaritans are used to taking calls for help not making them.

But the voluntary group is asking for assistance in the run-up to the first Brighton Marathon.

It has four paid-up fund-raising places available, according to the Brighton Bits blog.

The blog urges runners to contact the Brighton branch by emailing brighton@samaritans.org or by phoning 01273 738115.

Runners need to be registered by Sunday 31 January.

It says that anyone who already has a place and would like to run and raise money for the branch can get in contact any time before the race on Sunday 18 April.

The Samaritans can offer support in training and fund-raising to participants.
