Brighton lifeboat rescues four from stranded speedboat

The Brighton lifeboat has rescued four people from between the piers.

They got into difficulty when the engine of their speedboat conked out and they couldn’t restart it.

The RNLI lifeboat was launched from Brighton Marina just after 9.50am.

It quickly reached the stranded boat which had dropped anchor.

Fortunately, the sea was smooth and visibility excellent on a morning with a light northeasterly wind cooling the temperatures.

The lifeboat crew towed the speedboat back to Brighton Marina, completing the rescue just before 11am.
