A second man has been arrested by detectives investigating an assault on a man by a cyclist in Portland Road, Hove, on Sunday 7 November.
Sussex Police arrested the 35-year-old local man in a street in Hove shortly before 3pm today and is currently in custody for interview on suspicion of assault.
The 52-year-old victim from Hove was assaulted after opening his car door, causing three cyclists to take avoiding action.
One of the cyclists then assaulted the victim.
The victim sustained a serious head injury and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
He was later transferred to Hurstwood Park, Haywards Heath, where he remains in a stable but critical condition.
A 36-year-old man from Brighton was arrested after handing himself into Brighton police station at around 4.45pm on Tuesday (9 November), after seeing the police appeal in the media.
No further action is being taken against him by police.
