Brighton man to be tried for murder of Gordon Stalker

A man from Brighton is due to stand trial next week charged with the murder of Gordon Stalker.

Stephen Dunne, 41, of Chates Farm Road in the Hanover area of Brighton, is accused of killing Mr Stalker in February.

Mr Stalker, 51, died after being stabbed in the chest and the side of his body at his home in Elm Grove, Brighton.

The trial is due to start at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday (16 November).

A memorial service was held for Mr Stalker at the Lewes Road Community Garden where he had been one of the campaigners against plans to open a Tesco store in the site.

He grew up in Cumbria before moving to Brighton and had lived in his Elm Grove home for 16 years before his death.
