A Brighton man has been remanded in custody after being charged with stabbing another man in a fight at the weekend.
Simon Sullivan, 43, of Craven Road, Brighton, appeared before Brighton magistrates today on charges of wounding with intent and having a knife in a public place without lawful reason.
Sullivan is accused of stabbing a 30-year-old man in Craven Road, Brighton, at about 8.30pm on Saturday (4 June).
He was arrested by officers from Sussex Police in Lewes yesterday (Sunday 5 June) and is due back in court on Friday 19 August.
The 30-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment to a 3in knife wound but was not seriously injured.
The knife missed his major organs. He was released from hospital yesterday.
