Three men chased, attacked and robbed another man in a street in Brighton at the weekend.
The victim, 24, suffered minor injuries after he was punched and kicked by the three men who stole his wallet and mobile phone in Whitehawk.
Sussex Police said that the first man was described as white, aged in his early twenties, 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build and with short shaved dark hair.
He had tattoos on his arms and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
The second was a black man aged in his early twenties, about 6ft 2in to 6ft 3in tall, of skinny build with black afro hair which stuck out in twists.
He had lots of silver chains around his neck.
The third was also a black man aged in his early twenties, about 5ft 11in tall, of medium build and with black hair.
As the victim tried to run off and escape from the Whitehawk area he knocked on a few doors for help but could not get a response.
The victim, from Dorset, was attacked between 2am and 3am on Saturday (4 June).
Detective Constable Andy Beaumont said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information about it to make contact with the police.
“I am also particularly keen to trace anyone who may have heard a knock on their door in the early hours of 4 June regardless of whether they answered or not.”
