Kazenga LuaLua told Brighton and Hove News earlier this week that if he scores against his former club Newcastle today (Saturday 28 January) he will without doubt perform one of his famous somersaults.
Incredibly the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder broke his back while practising to somersault when he was a young boy.
But he suggested that this had helped with his suppleness so that he can keep on performing the feat.
Gus Poyet has so far given his blessing to the acrobatics but, as LuaLua himself pointed out, he hasn’t scored in a competetive match this season.
The young midfielder admitted that it would feel strange to score against the club he started with at just 11 years old.
It was LuaLua’s brother who helped to arrange a trial with the Geordies, which set the player on the road to a professional contract.
LuaLua thought that it was a practical joke when he was first told about it.
He is looking forward to the possibility of facing his brother in a league for the Albion against Blackpool in March.
The midfielder is excited by what is going on at the Albion and feels that he wasn’t give enough first team opportunities at St James’ Park.
He thinks that Albion have the potential to go all the way to the Premier League.
The Albion take on Newcastle United in the FA Cup 4th round at the Amex today.
