A man has died after being hit by a train at Moulsecoomb this evening (Wednesday 26 February).
The railway line has been closed between Brighton and Lewes, with all services along the route cancelled for the time being.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Moulsecoomb Station, in Queensdown School Road, at about 6.30pm.
The National Rail website reported disruptions to services in the area, saying: “A person has been hit by a train at Moulsecoomb, causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains between Brighton and Lewes.”
Tickets were being accepted on four routes operated by Brighton and Hove Buses – the 12, 25, 28 and 29.
