A man was robbed on Brighton seafront last night (Sunday 23 August).
The 23-year-old victim was attacked by four or five men who stole his watch and mobile phone in the underpass at the bottom of West Street.
Sussex Police issued an appeal today (Monday 24 August) for help in tracing the muggers.
The force said: “Police are seeking witnesses to a street robbery that took place in the underpass between King’s Road Arches and the bottom of West Street, Brighton.
“The victim, a man aged 23, was attacked at around 7pm on Sunday (23 August) by a group of four or five black men aged between 17 and 25.
“He was punched before having his watch and mobile phone stolen but sustained only minor injuries.
“One of his assailants was wearing blue jeans and a purple glove on his right hand. Another had a gold tooth.
“All may have been in the King’s Road Arches area throughout the morning.”
