Poetry isn’t all about love. A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language. It can speak for the heartbroken, the marginalised, the dispossessed. It can weave wise words of wit, cynicism, perspective and truth. Whatever your take on Valentine’s Day, this show will have something for you.
Linguistic Calligraphy brings together top UK poets and slam champions showcasing some of the best performers this country has to offer on the poetry and spoken word scene.
Join us at the Komedia Brighton for a night that explores love, relationships, breakups and sexuality using linguistic word power.
Headline act is the incredible Joelle Taylor, leading UK poet, poetry ambassador, poetry champion and a unforgettable talent. “Every second is crammed with dense dazzling word pictures.” (Time Out)
Also featuring UK slam champions The Repeat Beat Poet (Winner of Nozslam 2016 ), Aislinn Evans (SLAMbassador Youth Champion 2016) and the multi talented Holly Flo Lightly. Plus a three way three round poetry slam with invited poets and special alternative Valentine’s themed rounds.
