The Release – ‘No Secret’ album by Carly Simon (Selected Video)
In the car at the moment is Carly Simon, ‘No Secret’ album 1972, favourite song ‘You’re So Vain’ because it reminds me of so many people I know

The Release – ‘The Balance’ by Catfish and the Bottlemen (Selected Video)
Only just released and I want to familiarise myself with the songs before I see them play live in Brighton on Thursday.

The Release – ‘Walk of Shame’ by Nikki Lane (Selected Video)
Ahead of Nikki Lane’s trip to Dingwalls later this year, I’ve been drowning myself in the southern tinged country sounds of her first album from 2011. Check out the excellent title track ‘Walk Of Shame’, ‘Gone, Gone, Gone’ and the superb ‘Lies’.

The Release – ‘Designer’ by Aldous Harding (Selected Video)
I usually run a mile from “sensitive Indie-folk Singer Songwriters” but this New Zealand artist has made an album matching acoustic guitar strumming to PJ Harvey style lyrical intensity. Not usually my thing, but an exception is made here.

The Release – ‘WHY’ by Discharge (Selected Video)
Total noise! Non stop end to end!

The Release – ‘The Party’s Over’ by Talk Talk (Selected Video)
I listened to ‘The Party’s Over’ by Talk Talk – classic early 80’s synthesizers based album. In memory of singer/songwriter Mark Hollis who sadly died this year.

The Release – ‘Human’s Lib’ by Howard Jones (Selected Video)
Bringing me back to my teenage years , so lost till I found this album. Lyrics like “But you’re not, you’re not who you think you are, jumbled mass of preconceived ideas”. His words should be in a bible of life as I’m still learning from them now.

The Release – ‘OK Computer’ by Radiohead (Selected Video) ‘OK Computer’, Radiohead’s third studio album, was released in June 1997. It became their most successful album, peaking at number one in the UK. It received a triple-platinum certification from the BPI and produced the UK top ten hits ‘Paranoid Android’, ‘Karma Police’ and ‘No Surprises’.

The Release – ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ by Pink Floyd (Selected Video)
I’ve been listening to this album primarily because all being well I should be going to see Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets at the Roundhouse on Friday. This is an interesting album as it shows Pink Floyd attempting to find their feet after the departure of Syd Barrett. Only he hasn’t quite left yet – the album features one of his songs – Jugband Blues – on which he sings and possibly plays too.

The Release – ‘Festival’ by Santana (Selected Video)
This was one of the first albums that I bought being 12 years old at the time. ‘Festivál’ was the eighth studio album by Santana, released in January 1977. It peaked number twenty seven in the album chart. The album holds so many memories for myself and my family with fantastic tracks such as ‘Let The Children Play’, Carnaval’ and ‘Jugando’. An absolute must hear.

The Release – ‘Oracular Spectacular’ by MGMT (Selected Video)
It’s hard to believe this album by the American duo MGMT was released over 11 years ago, it still sounds as fresh today as it did then. It’s evocative retro- synth sound spawned the singles ‘Kids’, ‘Time to Pretend’ and ‘Electric Feel’.

The Release – ‘Fixed Ideals’ by Muncie Girls (Selected Video)
Finally got to see this lot live for the very first time last week and wasn’t one bit disappointed. Purchased this and their previous album from them, signed of course.
