A Boot Scootin’ Time Ahead – Here and Now Preview

The Kinks had it all – style, swagger and songs. And now, you can enjoy them all again in this multi-award-winning musical coming to Brighton’s Theatre Royal this Christmas.

Set against the backdrop of Britain on the cusp of the rebellious ’60s, SUNNY AFTERNOON  is an exhilarating and moving celebration of the music, life, and the band that changed it all. The production was the recipient of four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music for Ray Davies.

The production celebrates the raw energy, passion and timeless sound of one of Britain’s most iconic bands, THE KINKS. Charting the euphoric highs and agonising lows, it tells their story through an incredible back catalogue of chart-toppers, including “You Really Got Me,” “Lola,” and “All Day and All of the Night.”

Whether you were there in the full get-up and loving the band’s rise or just know the songs from the radio, this is an epic story that evokes a unique moment in time when the bands literally changed the world around them.

In the depths of our winter, lazin’ on a sunny afternoon sounds like the perfect way to spend a few hours.
