Brighton & Hove Albion : Taricco ''Amazing first season at the Amex''

By Tim Hodges from the Amex Press Briefing.

Albion assistant boss Mauricio Taricco said today what an amazing first season the club has had at the Amex. ”we have played some big teams and had some success’.’ Tano appeared to have particularly enjoyed the Seagulls being top of the Football League after 7 games of the season.

He conceded though, it may will be more difficult next season but he and  Gus Poyet will try and get  the players into the club, that will help the current squad achieve it’s goal of getting into the Premier League. But that means assembling as squad of players early during pre-season.

Tano commented that in these last two games ”a few players need to perform”. ”Every time a professional player goes out and plays, they are playing for thier future.” ”But the players have been unbelievable this season”.

The Albion no 2 suggested the Albion may need a little more power next season and will have to reinforce the gaps left by Gonzalo Jara Reyes and Joe Mattock, when they return to West Brom.

Tano is looking forward to seeing Chris Houghton , who was a coach at Spurs when he was there.  The former Irish international brings his Birmingham City to the Amex on Saturday. He put it down to the fact that the Blues have vast resources , that this has enabled them to play so many games this season and stay in contention for the play-offs.

Taricco told Brighton & Hove News that he didn’t envisage any selection surprises from the Albion this coming Saturday, and that the Seagulls of course needed to try and win the match.

On a final note he admitted that Craig Mackail-Smith has had a difficult season, but thinks the team need to play more to the strikers strengths next season and that he is confident the Scottish International will score goals.

I am finding B+H news too football centric and am now de-friending, un-liking and un-favoriting the site…sadly x
