The director of an organisation that was set up to make life happier is coming to Brighton to give a free talk called: “Practical ideas for living well.”

Mark Williamson, the director of Action for Happiness, is due to give his talk at the Friends’ Meeting House in Ship Street at 7.30pm on Thursday 31 May. The doors open at 7pm.

Mr Williamson will use the talk and the event to found a local branch – Brighton Action for Happiness.

His talk will include information about the movement, which started in 2010, and how it believes that everyone can contribute and benefit at a personal level.

One of the founders of Action for Happiness was Anthony Seldon, former headmaster of Brighton College.

His ideas have influenced, among others, David Cameron.

The Prime Minister gave £2 million to the Office for National Statistics to work out the best way to measure the nation’s happiness and well-being.

The first results were published in February, with the next due out in July.
