The Brighton actress Natascha McElhone has written a book in memory of her late husband Martin Kelly.

The book, called After You, is due to published by Penguin on Thursday 1 July and has been serialised in The Sunday Times.

It is a moving account of McElhone’s grief after Kelly, a plastic surgeon, had a heart attack and died at the age of 43.

At the time McElhone, who starred in The Truman Show with Jim Carrey, was three months pregnant with the couple’s third son Rex.

Kelly died at their home in West London a few day’s after their tenth wedding anniversary.

She said: “Writing to my husband has enabled me to keep him here long enough to ‘come to terms’ with losing him.”

The former pupil of St Mary’s Hall School for Girls (since taken over by Roedean), in Eastern Road, Brighton, said that having their baby had given her the strength to carry on.
