The Black Queen

A decade ago, Los Angeles based The Black Queen burst onto the electronic music scene after releasing their debut ‘Fever Daydream’ album on 29th January 2016, which was met with critical acclaim. This 10 track slab of pure synthwave certainly pleased those folk that were seriously into the genre.

The outfit flew over to the UK and on 5th February 2016 they performed live at the Oslo in Hackney as part of the NME Awards. This featured 9 cuts from the new LP with only ‘That Death Cannot Touch’ not getting an outing that day. 16 days later they were at the Maida Vale Studios also in London for a BBC Radio 1 in Session for Rock Show with Daniel P Carter. The four tunes from the new album selected for this being ‘Distanced’, ‘Secret Scream’, ‘Ice To Never’ and ‘The End Where We Start’. The Black Queen were back in the capital on 26th September the same year, when they performed ‘Fever Daydream’ in its entirety at the Jazz Cafe.

The Black Queen

The Black Queen dropped their follow-up album on 28th September 2018. This too contained 10 tracks and was titled ‘Infinite Games’. The band performed a concert at London’s Bush Hall shortly afterwards on 11th October, as well as other dates around the UK including Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. Tour dates across Europe, Australia and back home in the USA followed. These were to be The Black Queen’s last concerts until reconvening this May as a celebration of their debut album with a set of dates across North America.

The Black Queen have now announced that they will be commencing their UK tour with their first ever performance in Brighton. This will be going down at the popular Dust venue located on East Street on Thursday 10th December (more on the venue below). After this Sussex concert the band will be heading off around the country calling in at London, Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and then concluding in Dublin – see dates below:
