Rude rock causes a stir on Brighton seafront

Rude rock causes a stir on Brighton seafront

A sweet shop on Brighton seafront is causing a bit of a stir.

That’s because it stocks a range of treats labelled “rude rock”.

Councillor Dawn Barnett, a member of Brighton and Hove City Council, described it as totally unnecessary and said that it tarnished the town’s reputation. She pointed out that children were among the customers.

Shop owner Michael Shalabi said that a couple of customers complained so he moved the saucy sweets to the top shelf, away from the eyes of children.

Insulting or a harmless bit of fun?

Latest TV’s Mhairi Beveridge reports.

It’s no more insulting than the smutty newspapers and saucy postcards that are within eye level at almost every turn…..
