Six services or acts of remembrance are due to take place on Remembrance Sunday tomorrow, with another scheduled for Southwick.

The gusty winds of the past few days are expected to have faded to a light westerly breeze and the morning services at war memorials should be free from rain. A little rain could fall during the afternoon. Temperatures are likely to range between 9C (48F) and 12C (54F).

The traditional two-minute silence will take place at the memorial in the Old Steine, Brighton, at 11am.

It will be followed by a short ceremony, laying of wreaths and march past.

Those watching and taking part are asked to arrive no later than 10.45am.

In Portslade, the silence is also due to take place at 11am at the Easthill Park Memorial.

A parade is scheduled to depart from Portslade Town Hall at 10.20am and head for Easthill Park for the laying of wreaths from 10.50am before the silence at 11am.

Another parade is due to leave the Southwick Square car park in Southwick at 10.30am on Sunday.

The parade will be followed by a service at the war memorial on Southwick Green starting at 10.55am.

In Hove Cemetery, Old Shoreham Road, Hove, a short wreath-laying ceremony will take place first at the South Gate Memorial at 11am.

This will be followed by the same ceremony at the North Gate Memorial.

No service is expected at this location.

In Rottingdean, an act of remembrance is due to take place at the memorial on the village green at noon.

The main ceremony in Hove is due to take place after lunch, with veterans and supporters expected to gather by the war memorial in Grand Avenue, Hove, at 2.30pm.

A parade will leave Hove Town Hall at 2.15pm and make its way to the war memorial for the wreath-laying ceremony.

Afterwards the parade will head to All Saints’ Church for a full service of remembrance which starts at 3pm.

The Brighton and Hove branch of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women will gather at 4.25pm with their members due to attend a service of remembrance at the Brighton and Hove Reform Synagogue in Palmeira Avenue, Hove.
