Hounds and humans came complete with fluorescent wigs and clothing to draw in large crowds as they danced for two minutes to Who Let The Dogs Out? in Churchill Square this month.
Graham Oulton, branch organiser of Brighton and Hove Guide Dogs, said: “It’s been fantastic creating awareness for guide dogs. We’ve had great help from Brighton and Hove Buses as well as Churchill Square shopping centre for allowing us to do the flash-mob inside.”
Sponsored by Brighton and Hove Buses, the fundraising event on Sunday, October 11 was sprung to conclude Guide Dogs Week. The routines aimed to raise awareness of how guide dogs make life easier for blind or partially sighted people.
Victoria Garcia, accessibility and communities officer at Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, said: “It is the last day of National Guide Dog’s Week and today was all about standing out for guide dogs.
“We’ve done three flash mobs today, two inside Churchill Square and one outside to promote awareness and help raise funds for guide dogs, which is a great cause.”
Events to mark the week were held across the country with famous monuments such as London’s Marble Arch being illuminated with Guide Dog banner projections.
