British Airways i360 is this week issuing a free ticket to every child currently attending a state primary school, secondary school or sixth form college in Brighton and Hove.

Vouchers for a flight on the seaside attraction, which is conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, have been sent to 73 schools across the city, to 35,000 children aged four to 18 years.

Schools are offered the opportunity to engage children with the pioneering engineering and cutting-edge design that place the landmark attraction at the forefront of British architecture.

Each school can decide whether to use their tickets for school trips or give them to students to use in their own time. The vouchers must be exchanged for tickets at the British Airways i360 ticket office on Kings Road and are valid for use any time until July 25, 2017.

British Airways i360 chief executive Eleanor Harris said: “Children absolutely love the British Airways i360 pod. It is 10 times the size of a London Eye capsule and families are free to walk around or sit at their leisure enjoying the 360-degree views of Sussex, pointing out landmarks, ships out at sea and birds flying past.

“We are very excited to be offering schools the chance to move their classrooms to the skies, and look forward to welcoming them on board.”

British Airways i360 is also developing school curriculum materials for Key Stages 1 to 4, which will be available in the New Year.

What about the nursery children who are attached to the schools. They are four too and we pay for learning.
