5 random things we looked back on after Brighton & Hove Albion drew with Everton

Manager of Brighton and Hove Albion’s women team dismissed after allegations

1) Betty Turpin’s son Bill Kenwright was at the Amex. The Theatre impresario and Toffees chairman took the lift up to the directors lounge.

2) We also hear that Sky Sports News presenter Jim White was also in attendance – our sources tell us that he didn’t take the lift and was a little confused by the queuing protocols in West Stand reception. Although we’re sceptical jovial Jim could get anything wrong.

3) The queues for the buses and trains were a lot larger than recently for the Newcastle match. We wonder just how many Everton fans turned up without tickets? Many appeared cautious about getting on the Falmer trains at Brighton station before realising no match ticket or other checks took place before boarding.

4) The result was a double-edged sword for some Albion fans. There was delight at the thought of seeing Albion win again, tempered by the realisation that they had just watched a living legend scoring in the flesh at little old Brighton.

5) A proper top-flight football match at the Albion against one of England’s northwest powerhouses after years of “enjoying/enduring” (take your pick) Northampton, Port Vale, Leyton Orient, et al.
