Greens and Conservative say Brighton Pavilion too close to call

Conservative Brighton Pavilion candidate Charlotte Vere said the seat remained too close to call. Speaking outside the counting hall at the Brighton Centre, Mrs Vere said the ballot boxes opened so far had seemed evenly split, echoing the impression she had received around the constituency. Green Party councillor Jason Kitcat agreed the vote appeared very close and said his party had been amazed by the enthusiasm of support for their candidate Caroline Lucas but were not prepared to say they expected to win.
