Extensions to residents’ parking areas in Kemp Town are expected to be approved.
Brighton and Hove City Council’s plans to extend Area H to include roads to the east of Royal Sussex County Hospital follows two years of discussions and a public consultation.
See a map of the proposed residents’ parking area here.
The majority of the 708 people who responded to the consultation questionnaire back in May, 2009, support the extended scheme.
Concerns raised included the limited number of short and long-term pay and display parking bays available for residents and businesses in the area.
Roads included in the extended Area H are: Maresfield Road, Cowfold Road, Manor Green, Manor Road, Manor Gardens, Manor Paddock, Prince Regent’s Close, Prince’s Terrace, Bristol Gardens, Bristol Place, Bristol Street, Bennett Road, Rugby Place, Arundel Place, Eastern Place, Arundel Road, Arundel Street, De Courcel Road, Whitehawk Road, Henley Road, and Roedean Road.
The project goes before the environment cabinet member meeting on Thursday, June 10.
