A Brighton man was brought before magistrates yesterday charged with the road rage attack on a car driver in Hove last Sunday.
Paul Lambeth, 35, of Stafford Road, Brighton, is accused of being the cyclist who punched greengrocer Tony Magdi, knocking him out.
Mr Magdi, 52, from Hove, suffered serious a head injury in the attack and is still unconscious in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Lambeth was charged with attacking Mr Magdi, in Portland Road, Hove, causing him grievous bodily harm.
He did not plead and was ordered by Brighton magistrates to wear an electronic tag until his next court appearance on Thursday 23 December.
