Seven people arrested after a man fell from a window on New Year’s Day have been freed from police bail.
Scott Green, 25, was found with serious injuries in Chadborn Close on the Bristol Estate, Brighton, at about 2.50am on Saturday 1 January.
Mr Green was taken to the Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath.
Sussex Police said that he was now undergoing rehabilitation at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
Detective Inspector Ian Still, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “We are still trying to establish exactly how this young man came to fall from the window and are keen to speak to anyone with information who hasn’t yet spoken to police.
“The victim has received some very serious injuries.
“However, I’m pleased to report that he is no longer in a critical condition but will require extensive rehabilition.”
Officers arrested three men aged 23, 26 and 32 and two women aged 22 and 23, all from Brighton, and a 27-year-old man from Hurstpierpoint and a 24-year-old man from Lewes.
The five men and two women were held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Now they have all been told that they face no further action and are free from police bail.
