French restaurant Cote wants to expand following it’s successful conversion of Brighton’s old music library.

The eatery revamped the long-disused building in Church Street before opening in its ground floor last year.

Its owners now want to create space for more diners by expanding into the first floor.

They have applied to Brighton and Hove City Council for planning permission. A decision is expected in the next few weeks.

* A second Cook shop is opening in Brighton and Hove as the first one closes.

The new branch is in Church Road, Hove, and will be operated as a franchise by Duncan and Jane Clark, who run the branch in Lewes.

The Cook shop in the old post office in Western Road, Brighton, was due to close today.

Cook sells and delivers handmade and frozen ready meals and now operates about 50 shops and 300 concessions in places like farm shops.
