West Blatchington Windmill holds its annual fete this afternoon (Sunday 22 July).

The grade II* listed windmill, in Holmes Avenue, Hove, will be open to the public from 1pm to 5pm.

The fete will be themed around the Olympics and the Queen’s diamond jubilee with a fancy dress competition around these themes for children and a mini-Olympics.

The Hangleton Band, Way Out West country music band and the Aldrington African Drum Troupe will provide the music.

The Old Shoreham Buccaneers morris dancers are due to perform and there will also be stalls and games around the landmark corn mill.

Throughout the afternoon there will be tours of the windmill, which was painted by John Constable in 1825.

And the Hove vintage fire engine will also be paying a visit.
