Sussex University is to apologise and pay compensation to four students it suspended over a protest, the Guardian reports today.
The four protesters were suspended in December 2013 after a protest about the privatisation of university studies.
Since then, the university has spent £55,000 on legal fees and now the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education has recommended it apologise and pay each between £2,000 and £2,500 in compensation.
