Prince Andrew paid a surprise visit to Whitehawk today, arriving by helicopter to visit primary school children.
The royal visit to City Academy Whitehawk was timed to coincide with Science Week, and children proudly showed off their work to the prince this afternoon.
However, the trip almost didn’t happen as adverse weather meant another scheduled school trip to Sevenoaks had to be cancelled.
But fortunately the rain cleared in time for Prince Andrew to make it to Brighton as planned.
