Brighton & Hove Albion take on Newcastle United at the Amex this evening, in possibly the most eagerly anticipated match of the Falmer era.
The Seagulls lead the Championship and with a win will go four points clear at the top. With matches coming up against lowly Nottingham Forest and Rotherham, and also inconsistent Derby County who visit the Amex on March 10th. Albion could reach 83 points by mid March, just six shy of last seasons overall total.
Brighton & Hove News asked boss Chris Hughton if he felt this was the most significant home game of his tenure, he told us ” at the time the Barnsley game felt like the most significant game of the season, because of where we were and the teams below us were winning games. But I understand the hype and that its a TV match, but I think we have had lots of significant games here at the Amex”
