Brighton and Hove Albion have been drawn against Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The Seagulls have only once previously made it past the last 16 stage and that was way back in 1978 when they lost to Nottingham Forest.

They last met the Reds in the League Cup back in 2011 and before that in 1985.

Liverpool won 2-1 at the Amex in the third round in September 2011, with goals from Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt. Ashley Barnes scored from the spot for Brighton, then in the Championship.

In October 1985, Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win in the fourth round at Anfield. Albion were in the old Second Division, now the Championship. Paul Walsh scored a hat-trick, with Kenny Dalglish hitting the fourth.
