The Theatre Royal is set to host one of its darkest moments next week as The Woman In Black arrives, direct from the West End.
First published in 1983, this acclaimed novel by Susan Hill has been adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt. The action takes place in a small English town where a mysterious spectre haunts, causing the inhabitants to question everything and believe nothing.
Obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a Woman in Black, Arthur Kipps engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul.
This performance promises to keep the theatre on the edge of their seats, with lighting and sound work that will take the audience into the heart of the drama and into the darkest parts of their minds. The play is being performed by Daniel Burke and John Mackay who are set the challenging role of keeping us all in suspense.
