A Hove woman has denied sending abusive emails to her MP, business secretary Peter Kyle.
Claire Kerrison, 54, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court this morning charged with two counts, one of sending an indecent or offensive message and one of racially aggravated harassment.
Wearing a headscarf, she entered a not guilty plea to both in front of district judge John Zani this afternoon.
The case was adjourned until 20 November for a case management hearing, at which a trial date is due to be set.
Kerrison, of Waterloo Street, was remanded on conditional bail with a condition of “not to contact directly or indirectly by any means MP Peter Kyle, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, MP David Lammy, Angela Rayner, Christopher Henry, or Domino Moore by any means.”
Mr Henry and Ms Moore work in Mr Kyle’s constituency office.
