A library is due to reopen today (Saturday 15 November) two days after a threat led to its sudden closure.
Whitehawk Library was shut on Thursday (13 November) along with the Whitehawk Hub and the Portslade Hub.
At the time, Brighton and Hove City Council said that the closures were for health and safety reasons.
It has since emerged that someone made a threat that was judged to require the closure of the two buildings at short notice.
The council said late last night: “The council buildings closed earlier this week will now be reopening.
“Whitehawk Library will open from 9am tomorrow morning (Saturday 15 November), and the Whitehawk Community Hub and Portslade Hub buildings will reopen from Monday 17 November.
“The closure followed threats to the buildings from an individual.
“The incident has now been stood down and services will resume as usual.”
