A Boot Scootin’ Time Ahead – Here and Now Preview

Wanna make you mine, better get in line!

Ah, Steps. So much fun, so much cheese and so many memories. The band that nobody said was their favourite outright, even though their 22 million record sales suggest a different opinion. Well, we are saying it here and now – we loved Steps then, and their music still gets us up and dancing.

And ‘Here and Now’ is just the right phrase as it is the title of their musical, which is coming to Theatre Royal, Brighton this December for an amazing two-week run! All the favourite songs have been honed into a supermarket storyline that sounds great fun, and we will be there ready for a bit of shopping and a great big dose of fun.

Here’s the concept:

Welcome to seaside superstore Better Best Bargains, where it’s Friday night, the vibe is right, and everyone’s dancing in the aisles. But when Caz discovers the shelves are stocked with lies and betrayal, the summer of love she and her friends dreamed of suddenly feels like a tragedy. Have they all lost their chance of a ‘happy ever after’? Or does love have other plans in store…

The band’s hits include number 1 singles Tragedy/Heartbeat and Stomp, and lots of top ten smashes including One For Sorrow, Better Best Forgotten, 5,6,7,8, Last Thing On My Mind, Love’s Got A Hold Of My Heart and Chain Reaction. They will all feature in the musical alongside many more, and we can’t wait to see how they position each one alongside the story and the new characters we are going to meet.

So, bring your cowboy hats, your sparkly costumes and your best smile because Rompin’ stompin’, pumpin’ jumpin’, slidin’ glidin’, here we go! And if you can remember all the moves to all the songs, this is the only place to show them off!

Tickets are available from Theatre Royal, Brighton.
