The Met Office has warned of ice forming overnight as freezing temperatures are forecast to follow rainfall.
The warning, issued this morning across most of England and Wales, is in place from midnight until 10am tomorrow.
It says: “Following a band of precipitation which clears southeast overnight, clear skies will develop for many areas on Tuesday night will lead to icy patches on untreated wet surfaces.
“This could lead to some minor disruption especially on Wednesday morning.”
The Met Office’s forecast for Brighton and Hove tonight is for heavy rain from 10pm with temperatures dropping to 2C from 7am.
