Starting on Monday 20th April, Brighton-based Tom Brain will be running seven full marathons in seven consecutive days to raise vital funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
While Tom – who works as a promoter at JOY. Concerts – is no stranger to long distance running – having completed three full marathons and four ultramarathons – this latest challenge is his biggest test yet.
In total, he will cover 295 kilometers over the seven days with routes planned along the historic Brighton and Hove seafront, Madeira Drive and the undercliff, dictated only by the wind and weather.
“Alzheimer’s Society does incredible work supporting those living with dementia and their families. It’s a cause that is incredibly close to my heart with both my grandparents living with the disease,” says Tom.
“Running nearly 300 kilometers in a week is going to be tough but it’s a challenge that I am ready to get stuck into, quite frankly I’m chomping at the bit to get started. Friends will be joining me through the week, at various points, so I’m just hoping the sunshine stays.”
Every penny raised goes directly toward research and support services provided by the Alzheimer’s Society.
