For The Record - Brighton Fringe

For the Record theatre at Brighton Fringe – Preview

May 2026

A new original theatre piece, For The Record, comes to Junk Poets at Caravanserai, in Brighton Fringe this May, offering a stripped-back, surreal take on love, memory and missed chances.

Nancy and David are dead. Worse still, they are trapped together in the same room for eternity — unless they can agree on what really happened between them. As they piece together a shared timeline through the music that shaped their lives, long-buried truths begin to surface.

What unfolds is part relationship drama, part afterlife puzzle. A mysterious vinyl player, a strange door and unsettling puppets all play their part in a story that asks a familiar question with a sharper edge: could ‘the one that got away’ ever have been the one, if timing had been different — or were things always destined to fall apart?

Blending emotional honesty with dark humour, the show explores regret, secrecy and the stories we tell ourselves about love. For The Record is presented by Salt Air Stories, a new Brighton-based (well, Hove actually!) company focused on myth, fable and contemporary storytelling. The piece comes from the team behind OffFest-nominated comedy Rambunctious Scallywag.

The cast and creative team includes Farrah Alice Black (writer, performer and producer) and Felix Berendse (writer, performer and creative director), with production management by Shark Stunell and marketing by Harmony Kinnear.
