Darling, A Regency-themed circus show blending aerial performance, physical theatre and comedy comes to the Spiegeltent at the SpiegelGardens on 19 and 20 May as part of Brighton Fringe, very apt for the Georgian city of Brighton.
Presented by Pivot Point Circus, a collective of eight international artists who graduated together in 2025 from the National Centre for Circus Arts, London, the production invites audiences into a stylised world of high society, where romance, ambition and rivalry play out under the watchful eye of a queen.
Set around a grand ball, the show follows a cast of characters navigating love, status and social expectation. As the evening unfolds, the formalities begin to slip, revealing tensions and hidden motives beneath the surface.
The performance combines acrobatics, aerial work and physical comedy, using circus techniques to explore the contrasts between outward decorum and inner chaos. Audience members can expect a mix of spectacle and humour, with elements of audience interaction throughout.
The ensemble cast includes performers Ellie Beale, Xélia Froidevaux, Amelia Laughlin, Ruby Buchanan, Chrys Shipley, Willow Hippley and Tomas Elian Briones Rojas. The show is self-directed and produced by the company. Get a flavour of this interestingly themed show here – Darling.
