Jellyfish Theatre’s The Dragon Wagon – Brighton Fringe
A wildly enchanting outdoor family show rolls up at Brighton Fringe in May for Brighton Fringe. Jellyfish Theatre is offering FREE performances of an outdoor family show The Dragon Wagon on Sat 16 May in Brighton for Brighton Fringe Festival.
Jellyfish Theatre is a small-scale touring theatre company making high quality work for families. In 2021 the company developed a distinctive converted caravan as a performance space, enabling theatre to tour directly into communities. A retro caravan that transforms into a dragon. A dragon whisperer on a mission. An evil queen who must be stopped. A free, joyful outdoor show that pitches up in the heart of the community.
Productions including The Wagon of Dreams and The Dragon Wagon have since played housing estates, parks, National Trust properties, Latitude Festival and the London Borough of Culture Finale at Battersea Power Station. Nominated for Best Family Arts Activity at the Family Arts Campaign Awards 2024.
Three actor-musicians take audiences on an original adventure, inviting them to help The Dragon Whisperer save the very last dragons from the Evil Queen. Live original music, hand-made puppets and an extraordinary caravan combine to tell the story with heart and humour. Made for ages 4-8, but nobody else can resist it either.
Outdoor, visual, relaxed and completely free. No booking. Just turn up, bring a blanket and prepare to believe in dragons. Created by Jellyfish Theatre from an original idea by Sarah Simpson. Directed by Sarah Simpson and Susannah Cann. Music by Catty Tucker
