The official number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Brighton and Hove has risen to seven this afternoon.

The figures, which are now being released with a local authority breakdown each afternoon, showed one more case in the city.

The data is correct as of 9am this morning. Meanwhile, the number of cases in the UK rose from 163 to 206.

No more information about the new case has been released.

Meanwhile, large supermarkets around the city have bare shelves now people have begun stockpiling toilet roll, pasta, rice, soap and hand sanitiser.
