Brighton and Hove City Council adult home care staff have had a pat on the back from an independent watchdog.
The adult home care service has retained its top “three-star excellent” rating from the Care Quality Commission.
The CQC report said that staff were punctual and committed to meeting people’s needs while respecting their privacy and dignity.
Independent living was encouraged, with staff trained not just to help people but also to help them get back to being able to do things for themselves.
High levels of satisfaction were noted among people using the service.
Their comments included: “The service my husband gets is excellent.”
The inspector had no recommendations to make for doing things better.
The council’s cabinet member for adult social care, Councillor Ken Norman, said: “Our home care manager is the reigning national Home Care Manager of the Year, and this latest report is further proof that we have a first class home care team that really tries to goes the extra mile for the people they work with.”
The home care service was rated “three-star excellent” after its previous inspection in 2006.
