Brighton and Hove Albion 2 Nottingham Forest 2
Albion came back from behind to lead but were then pegged back in a feisty encounter with Forest at the Amex this afternoon.
Albion dominated the early exchanges but were caught out by a Forest counter-attack and when Carlos Baleba up-ended Calum Hudson-Odoi, former Seagulls striker Chris Wood dispatched the resulting penalty past Bart Verbruggen to put Forest 1-0 ahead.
Wood then missed a sitter and Albion got back in the game as Jack Hinshelwood powerfully headed home Jan Paul van Hecke’s cross
From being a goal down with seven minutes of the first half to play, Albion went in front as Danny Welbeck steered a 20-yard free-kick past Henderson. The Seagulls went in 2-1 up at the break.
Albion had lots of possession and opportunities but couldn’t find that killer third goal – then on 80 minutes Silva found Ramon Sosa who steered the ball away from Verbruggen for 2-2.
Before the end a horror tackle from Morgan Gibbs- White on Albion sub Joana Pedro saw the Forest midfielder sent off and in the ensuing melee so were both managers.
Albion are seventh and unbeaten and travel to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week.
