A 60-year-old has been released on bail after he was arrested by armed police responding to reports that a man had a firearm in a residential street in Brighton.
Sussex Police said that the 60-year-old man, who was arrested in Findon Road, Brighton, had been given police bail until the end of the month.
Earlier this week, the force said: “Police received a report of a man with a suspected firearm in Findon Road, Brighton, at about 10.30am on Monday 7 September.
“Officers, including armed officers, attended the scene and a man has been arrested.
“He remains in custody at this time and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.
“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while a further search of an address is completed.
“Anyone with further information can report it to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 583 of 07/09, if they have not already done so.”
