A man was stabbed at Portslade railway station last night (Thursday 8 October), police said today.
Sussex Police said: “An investigation has been launched after a knife incident in Portslade.
“Officers attended Portslade railway station on Thursday evening (8 October) at around 7.20pm, following a report that a man in his forties had been stabbed.
“The victim was injured during an altercation reported to have taken place outside the station involving four men and two women.
“All six individuals are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.
“The victim was taken to hospital and treated for a single stab wound.
“He remains in a stable condition.”
Detective Inspector, Jennifer Pietersen, said: “This incident will have understandably caused concern for local residents.
“Knife crime has no place in our communities and we continue to work at pace to establish the full circumstances of what happened and identify those involved.”
Sussex Police added: “If you witnessed the incident, have relevant CCTV or any other information to report, contact police online or by phoning 101, quoting reference 1310 of 08/10.”
