Two Brighton men have been jailed for supplying cannabis.

Aaron Wadman, 20, of Freshfield Road, Brighton, and Matthew Bishop, 22, of Carden Hill, Brighton, were jailed at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 8 October.

Wadman was given a 12-months sentence and Bishop 15 months.

Wadman admitted having the drug with intent to supply and Bishop pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Confiscation orders were also made against both at the hearing on Friday.

Wadman accepted that he had made £5,200 from dealing cannabis and was ordered to repay £1,290.

This equalled the value of his car and the cash seized from him when he was arrested.

Bishop accepted that he had made £5,150 from dealing cannabis and was ordered to repay £2,350 which was the value of the cash seized from his house.

They were caught when police stopped a vehicle owned by Wadman and linked him to Bishop.

Sergeant Chris Lane, of Brighton and Hove Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The sentencing of these two drug dealers was the result of a long and thorough investigation by officers which resulting in linking these two men to the distribution of cannabis in the area.

“Sussex Police is committed to tackling the supply of drugs and I would urge the public to report any suspicious activity directly to the police on 0845 6070999 or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
