A choreographic installation where the audience dodges hundreds of swinging pendulums has become one of the first hits of this year’s Brighton Festival.
William Forsythe’s choreographic installation Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time No. 2 is at the old municipal market in Circus Street.
People moving through the pendulums have to swerve to avoid them, making it appear as though they are dancing.

The Brighton Festival piece, presented in partnership with South East Dance, will be open to the public for free viewing throughout May.
Martyn Evans, Creative Director of Cathedral Group which owns the building and is sponsoring the festival, said: “It is particularly fitting for our support of Brighton Festival this year to focus on choreography, as The Dance Space, a new home for South East Dance and for dance in the region, is part of our future development proposals on this site.”
Cathedral Group is planning on building a £100m development of new homes and university buildings with a dance studio and places to eat and drink.
