A man armed with a knife robbed a Brighton betting shop, making off with £130.

Sussex Police said that the man walked into Ladbrokes in Arundel Road, Brighton, at about 7.25pm on Friday 5 November.

He brandished a knife and demanded money from the staff.

After making off with £130 he was seen to walk from the shop to the junction with Eastern Road where he met two other men who were wearing dark clothes.

No one was attacked or hurt during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white man with a Liverpudlian accent, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and wearing a dark coat and a scarf round his face.

Detective Constable Jane Walker said: “A man in a uniform, believed to be a Brighton and Hove bus driver, was seen to walk past as the suspect left.

“We would like that man and anyone else who has any information about the robbery to contact us via 0845 6070999.”

Witnesses can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
