Crumbs! Award-winning Seven Dials roundabout begins to break up

Less than a year after the award-winning Seven Dials roundabout was completed, it has begun to crumble.

The roundabout was redesigned to improve pedestrian safety last year over nine months and at a final cost of £950,000.

It reopened in December with a Christmas tree placed in the middle sponsored by Edburton, who carried out the work.

But these pictures show that the kerbs of the central island are already looking the worse for wear.

Bob Potter said: “Almost a year after completion of the redevelopment, we are witnessing a multitude of laudatory media reports of the staggeringly impressive outcome of the Seven Dials Improvement Scheme.

“They boast of the ‘success’ of the scheme and its being integral to CIVITAS naming Brighton and Hove as City of the Year – Europe’s top accolade for commitment to sustainable transport.

“Almost a million pounds has been spent – surely residents and road users are entitled to expect the completed job to have a life span exceeding ten months!”

A council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the issue and are working with the contractor to rectify what appears to be a materials failure. The scheme is still within its maintenance period.”

Surely it is a case of the wrong materials being used rather than their failure.Whoever wrote up the Specifications needs a good talking to.

Another wonderful treatment to the incapable and incompetent Green council.

Not long to go until these Marxist clowns are thoroughly humiliated, and removed from office

I’m sure you’ll find the contractors who actually did the work were from a Tory-owned business 😉

Incompetant public sector loons! And let me guess – were members of the highly skilled GMB Union involved?
