Staff at the Co-op rebutted rumours that the Hangleton branch had closed for good today (Monday 9 February).
The shelves at the store in The Parade, Hangleton Road, Hove, had been emptying over the past few days.
And the branch closed its doors early this morning (Monday 9 February) – but only for a refit.
Staff said that the store was due to re-open on Friday week (20 February).
Near by, on the other side of the Grenadier pub, a thief made off with the Sunday supplements from the Tesco, in West Way, before it opened yesterday, denting newspaper sales for the day.
What about the post office in the Co-op?
